Polish band The Shipyard formed in The Tricity (Gdansk/Sopot/Gdynia) in 2011. They are driven by the scent of the sea and sound of bent harbour steel. The Shipyard moves between classic cold wave alienation, a reverberating melancholy reminiscent of shoegaze, post punk, and heavier alt rock. Vocals channel the band's moody sound, as melodies soaked in pinching sadness yield to bursts of mad energy. Their debut album "We Will Sea" was declared by some music journalists as the debut of the year 2012. Their second album "Water On Mars" takes the listener for a true space trip - a blend of alternative rock, post-punk and crossover. Everybody needs water, therefore The Shipyard brought the clearest rock water around.

Grupa The Shipyard powstała w 2011 roku w centrum Trójmiasta, ale szybko potem zaczęła wymykać się ku dalszym rewirom.
Napędza ich zapach morza i dźwięk giętej portowej stali.

Choć debiutancki album „We Will Sea” (Nasiono Records), okrzyknięty płytą roku przez wielu dziennikarzy (między innymi Piotr Stelmach z Trójki), wykazywał ciągoty ku nowej fali i post-punkowemu sznytowi to obecnemu wcieleniu grupy najbliżej do ostrego i przebojowego gitarowego crossover.

The Shipyard odwiedzili szereg klubów oraz festiwali (między innymi Katowicki Off Festival, Przystanek Olecko i inne). W tym roku zdobyli też Grand Prix na festiwalu In Memoriam Grzegorza Ciechowskiego oraz główna nagrodę podczas turnieju Skrzydlate Wiosło w Piszu.

Skład zespołu tworzą muzycy znani z formacji takich jak Made In Poland, Sound Of Pixies, Heart & Soul, Vulgar czy Kiev Office.
W tej Stoczni wodowane są muzyczne torpedy na miarę 21 wieku.
